A short introduction to shape analysis of apparent contours by “ panorama views ” Mahito Kobayashi and Takashi Sano

چکیده
Shape analysis of simple closed plane curves is an important subject including many chances of application to industry, especially when the curves are apparent contours of objects projected into the plane. A notion of panorama view is introduced, with presentations of some ideas of its application to the subject.

Surface reconstruction of detect contours for medical image registration purpose
Although, most of the abnormal structures of human brain do not alter the shape of outer envelope of brain (surface), some abnormalities can deform the surface extensively. However, this may be a major problem in a surface-based registration technique, since two nearly identical surfaces are required for surface fitting process. A type of verification known as the circularity check for th...
متن کاملShape constancy from novel views.
Prior experiments on shape constancy from novel views are inconclusive: Some show that shapes of objects can be recognized reliably from novel views, whereas others show just the opposite. Our analysis of prior results suggests that shape constancy from novel views is reliable when the object has properties that constrain its shape: The object has volumetric primitives, it has surfaces, it is s...
متن کاملReconstruction of Quadrics from Two Polarization Views
This paper addresses the problem of reconstructing textureless objects of quadric like shape. It is known that a quadric can be uniquely recovered from its apparent contours in three views. But, in the case of only two views the reconstruction is a one parameter family of quadrics. Polarization imaging provides additional geometric information compared to simple intensity based imaging. The pol...
متن کاملA variational framework for shape from contours
We describe a new way to reconstruct the surface of an object from multiple views. We use the level sets method to get a surface such that its apparent contours are compatible with the images. We enforce, as much as possible, the apparent contours to be projected in each image in areas where the magnitude of the gradient of the grey level is high. Our approach is new for two reasons: we do not ...
